And what I am painting for.
One day, one day I will buy a farmhouse and land and have everything I want. Grow my own vegetables. Create my own garden of paradise. I'd like to grow old that way.

I have been...
I have been working.
It's hard to tell when I don't update.
I've been focusing on my show, the modernised fairytales.
I'm halfway through Sleeping Beauty and halfway through Rapunzel.
After these two, only six more stories to go!
*scared face*
It's a lot of work.
And I *hope* it will all be worth the time and energy and current poverty.

Taking The Art Out Of Production.
Digital art.
Shared images.
Cut and paste.
Delete and alter.
I was thinking about it all. I don't disagree with digital art, I *like* digital art. You can do some incredible things and it reaches the masses at a much faster rate.
But...I was looking at an *amazing* photo where the photographer had his model sit for hours, where he had sat for hours, and set up the conditioning impecably so he could get the *perfect* shot. And while it was perfect I couldn't help thinking...all of those hours could have been saved if he had just done it photoshop.
Then I had to scold myself for such an appalling thought.
And then I had to think about digital art versus painting. I know you can get digital paintings printed straight onto large canvases to 'create' a painting. But...you know it's not the same. You know a printed picture isn't the same as layers of paint that have been *applied*. It's not the same as bristles under the layers or brushstrokes in the texture.
But with photography...
a lot of the times it's hard to tell between a real photo and a digital production.
And it just...
it just made me sad for the photographers out there, who invest so much time and skill and effort into things.
It made me sad that somebody could duplicate the effort on a machine and in a small amount of time.
And I *really* hope they don't figure out a way to print paint flakes or brush strokes onto things.
Because then the state of the painting world will be in a pretty sad way as well.

Oh!
My incredibly sexy and intelligent husband begs to differ!
"Ahem. I'm such a geek. It's not a Golden rectanglizer, but a Fibonaccizer.
You can tell because if you entered 1, the complementary size would be 1.618. Instead, it says 2.
The Fibonacci series is the first number added to the second number to equal the third number. 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89 etc...
as you get higher up the series...starting with 5:8...you get closer to the golden ratio. I use the fibonacci series all the time. In fact, I think the fibonacci series might be more useful.
It's still very very cool.
And you're very cool for finding it.
And I love you."

What I've Been Doing!
Hey hey.
I've been knee-deep.
I've sorted out the idea for my show (fairy tales), the different stories I shall be using (six), and the different pieces I shall paint(18 in total).
I am sketching compositions and dimensions now.
As I paint each piece I shall post it here.
I also updated SYTs with the below photos.
I need to update my follow-up sites, such as humble voice.
And I need to update my original site.
I will try to do that today alongside going to the harward store to look at woods.
