I knew purple was the colour of royalty, of course, but I didn't know why until now.

My brother once told me about some Inca king (or priest or big-man-on-campus or whatever) had a whole cape made from humming bird feathers, and only wore it once--just because.
Purple marble is rare and lasts longer. Only the wealthy have purple marbles. But it is a colour also sometimes associated with spirituality. Mmmm... there is a mismatch in here somewhere!
